A splendid park of 3000 acres of which 1,000 acres is devoted to 8 species of deer including of course Woburn’s world renowned Reds.

Through the export of embryos from Woburn’s own deer farm, set up for the purpose, Woburn have established their own stud at Stanfield.

Foundation sires at Woburn included 42 point Russell, sire of Herbrand and 42 point Berry End, sire of Endsleigh.

Herbrand’s 5yr head at 605 IOA was the first over 600 IOA. His 6yr head was 645 IOA and his 7yr head 636 IOA. He won the National Hard Antler competition 3 years in a row with these heads.

In October 2006 Woburn shot a new record in the park at 609 SCI, replacing Woburn’s Tamar, the previous record.

Woburn Endsleigh recorded the very first 60 point head in recorded history. He was taken as a trophy in 2008 at 584 SCI and number 4.

Herbrand was taken as a trophy in 2010 and an unofficial No 2 CIC at 299 and 19 kg, 620 SCI.

Notable sons of Herbrand have been Howland, $51,000 purchased by Craig & Tracy Wilson and Harry & Norma Robinson and Balunky at $82,000 purchased by a European buyer.

At the stud we have a new sire Callum who at 5yrs in 2010 scored 603.75 IOA and 51 points, plus Haywood by Herbrand age 3yrs.

Most exciting for New Zealand is the astonishing sire at Woburn “Sackville” a super star of thickness and size and Henry T with a fine symmetrical head, both with semen in NZ as at 2010.
