Named after the 11th Duke of Bedford Herbrand, who founded the great Woburn deer collection in the late 19th century, numbering some 35 species. This remarkable sire measured an unprecedented 605 I.O.A. at 5yrs; the first stag to crack 600. His first 2 year olds set the pace in January 2006 with top industry 2 year old Howland purchased by Craig Wilson and Harry Robinson for the top industry price of $51,000. His next head was 645 I.O.A. and again topped the industry with Balunkey at $82,000. In 2008 he scored 636 I.O.A., so three record heads in a row. Herbrand was taken as a trophy in 2010 at 620 SCI, 299 CIC and 19kg. He was No. 2 behind Hotspur for unofficial CIC.
