Mission Statement

It is the intention of the stud to evaluate by performance, the finest red deer bloodlines, enhance and improve them, to produce the world's most superior genetics for the benefit of the New Zealand Deer Industry.

Background History

Our full time involvement in the deer industry began 34 years ago trapping deer in the King Country and 33 years ago when we established our consulting company, Deer and Game Services New Zealand Ltd.

In 1982, we travelled to England and imported our first Warnham Park deer and Woburns for Neville Johnson at Otuiti Lodge with both our own and Nevilles deer marketed through Stanfield.

In 1983 we secured the agencies for both Warnham Park and Woburn Abbey, which went on to see both Parks establish their own herds in New Zealand with us.

We also travelled to Yugoslavia and Hungary, securing the agencies for Prince Heinrich Reuss III and his famous Yugoslavian deer at Rosegg Park.

In later years, we imported outstanding eastern deer from Romania.

So today, 29 years on from first going to Europe, we continue to import bloodlines worthy of adding to the genetic advancement of our national herd.

We have produced six world record trophies / trophy scoring heads and it would not be unreasonable to suggest that Stanfield bloodlines are the most influential in the stud sector reflecting our 26 years of market leadership at auction.
